Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN)
The Galician Innovation Agency (GAIN) is a Galician public entity, attached to the Ministry of Education, Science, Universities, and Vocational Training, which promotes policies and initiatives that foster scientific excellence, knowledge transfer, talent, and innovation as levers for economic and social transformation, through the generation of knowledge and technology in strategic areas with a high socioeconomic impact for Galicia, such as biotechnology.
Axencia Galega de Coñecemento en Saúde (ACIS)
A Galician public entity attached to the Ministry of Health and the Galician Health Service, it is a key player in the Galician health research and innovation ecosystem. It is responsible for managing the knowledge generated within the Galician Public Health System in four strategic areas: professional training, research, innovation, and technology assessment.
IDIS Galician Health Research FoundationFIDIS, the managing entity of IDIS, the Santiago de Compostela Health Research Institute, is a translational biomedical research center that integrates professionals with the goal of improving public health. This research work translates into the generation of results, which are available to stakeholders in the biomedical and healthcare sectors, seeking co-development agreements or licensing contracts for commercial exploitation.
Galician Biomedical Research Foundation Galicia SurThe Galician Public Foundation for Biomedical Research in Southern Galicia (FPGIBGS) is the entity responsible for managing research in the Health Areas of Vigo, Pontevedra, and O Salnés, as well as Ourense, Verín, and O Barco de Valdeorras, and the Southern Galicia Health Research Institute (IISGS). Based at the Álvaro Cunqueiro Hospital, it is responsible for providing comprehensive support for research, development, and technological innovation projects carried out in these areas.
Galician Foundation for Biomedical Research INIBICThe Galician Public Foundation for Biomedical Research (FINIBIC) is a Galician healthcare institution dedicated to promoting research, teaching, and innovation in the field of health. Based in A Coruña, it manages R&D&I projects, promotes technology transfer, and collaborates with public and private entities to improve healthcare and promote scientific development in Galicia.

The Cluster Saúde de Galicia (CSG) is a sectoral organization that promotes excellence in healthcare through collaboration between companies, knowledge centers, administrations, and society. Focusing on technology, longevity, the circular economy, and biomedicine, it promotes innovation to position Galicia as a leading player in the global healthcare ecosystem.
Viratec, the Galician Cluster for Environmental Solutions and Circular Economy, is a group of more than eighty Galician entities in the environmental sector. We promote solutions in the areas of the environment and circular economy. Our mission is to contribute to the generation of value in the region by promoting innovation, technological capacity, and competitiveness among companies, acting as a driving force for social and environmental well-being and economic progress.
With an annual R&D budget of over €100 million, the USC is committed to specialization in biotechnology and biomedicine with an International Campus of Excellence, “Campus Vida,” which has centers specializing in molecular medicine and chronic diseases (CIMUS), biological chemistry and molecular materials (CIQUS), intelligent technologies (CITIUS), and a center for experimental biomedicine (CEBEGA), in addition to being part of IDIS.
